Why should you use an email campaign to market yourself? Don’t we get enough junk mail in our inboxes these days? The answer is simple: They work! Of all of the online marketing tools available, email campaigns are one of the most cost effective, aggressive and efficient.

Emails, as opposed to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC) don’t sit around and wait for you to seek them out, they reach out and touch you…or at least your inbox. Emails are a form of “Push” marketing, seeking out prospects, instead of “Pulling” them when they happen upon your ad online. Studies show that 58% of consumers start their online day by reading emails. While only 20% begin on search engines and 11% check their Facebook pages. This means you are likely to be one of the first things on your prospect’s mind in a given day.

One of the best tips we can give you is to have a great subject line! In order to maximize your email open rate you need to write a good subject line for your email – it’s the first thing your customer will see when they are deciding which emails to read and which to junk! Keep your subject line simple, to the point and tell the reader what to expect inside. Don’t use words like “free” which might trigger spam filters. Personalizing the subject line to the recipient and including your company name works well to encourage high open rates.
