3 Reasons Why You Need a Mobile Friendly Website

September 11, 2017

By: Ali Adcock

Research shows that roughly 57% of mobile users will leave your website if it takes more than 3 seconds to load. This is why it’s largely important to make sure that your website is mobile friendly. Chances are if you website isn’t mobile friendly, you’re losing business.

Brand Engagement

Visitors are more likely to visit your website on desktop if they had a good user experience on a mobile device. The use of multiple devices is very common, with a higher percentage of use on a mobile device. Those who view your site on a mobile device are more likely to view your site on another device such as a tablet or desktop. If your site isn’t mobile friendly and your competitors is, then it’s likely they will navigate towards your competitions site and you’ll risk losing a potential customer.

Reduce Bounce Rate

You may be asking yourself, “What is a bounce rate”? A bounce rate is the percentage of visitors that leave a website after viewing only one page. A high bounce rate is something you DON’T want to see. This means that visitors aren’t finding the information they’re looking for on your site. Creating a homepage and other landing pages with specific descriptions of what you can find on those pages is very important for visitors to find exactly what they’re looking for. The lower the bounce rate the better!

E-books

Lower bounce rates can also lead to conversions. If a website is easy to navigate and visitors spend time on your pages reading the information they’re looking for than they’re far more likely to convert to a lead. For example, a visitor wants to find out about pricing for a gym membership on your website. You want to make sure you have a page labeled specifically on your website for memberships and pricing. Once the visitor finds the information they are looking for then they will likely convert to a lead/member by signing up.

As a gym owner, take a few seconds and grab your mobile phone and go to your website and ask yourself a few questions.

  • Does your site load within 3 seconds?
  • Is it easy to navigate?
  • Is there a call to action?
  • Is the content easy to read?
  • Does your site provide a good user experience?

If the answer is no to most of these questions then it’s definitely time to optimize your website for mobile use. Remember, your website is the first impression someone has of your business, much like your store front when someone walks into your club. It’s very important to make sure your web visitors are finding what they need on your website and not having to search through multiple pages and risk them leaving your site for your competitions site.
